I am about to head to the gym, and I want to encourage you. I have been going to the gym for years, and I always feel better when I do. I hesitated to write about this because I do not want to seem like I am bragging or boasting about my often gym-going habit.
One reason I go to the gym is because I am jittery. I can feel it in my body if I have not been active. I get all shaky and restless if I have not worked out.
Going to the gym is important to me. On Monday, Nick drove me to the gym because it was one of those mornings. I was so tired and getting motivated to exercise was not easy. Going to the gym is not always easy, but it is always worth it. Even if you feel yucky, there is something about getting your body moving and being active that never fails to lift spirits. If you are a gym curmudgeon, don’t discount it. You should try it!
I value working my body out because I believe that it brings glory to God. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
God has gifted us with physical bodies on Earth that I strongly believe we should honour Him with. We gotta be pliable, peeps!
With these words, I want to encourage you. Get your body moving, and endorphins flowing! I find the hardest part of working out is physically moving your body to get to the gym, studio, outside, or wherever your exercise destination is. The hardest part is actually starting. Once you get started, it is smoother sailing. Trust me!
