When I was thinking of titles for this post, I was thinking “hmm, what should it be?”.
I was thinking that 2016 was not the best year and was going to title this post ‘What I Want from 2017’.
I guess it is the truth that confronts you sometimes. I want good things from 2017. I want it to look a little brighter than 2016 did. I have a good feeling about this year.
But good feelings are not creators of outcomes.
Annie F. Downs has a good quote that I love. It goes something like this: “I don’t make News Year’s resolutions, but I make New Year’s experiments because you always want to know how an experiment ends.”
This year, I want to learn how to think more positively about everything.
This year, I want to learn how to embrace what life and God give me.
This year, I want to make lemonade.
Sugary, sweet, tart, delicious, wonderful lemonade.
Whatever happens, this year, I want to make it awesome.
I want to actively and intentionally choose to dwell in the grace-gifts that God has so abundantly blessed Nick and me with. I want a mindset change. I want to choose to have strength when I am faced with challenges. I want to grow my stamina.
I want to be in pursuit of what sets my soul on fire.
I want to continue creating content for ‘Beautiful Humans’ and grow this family we have in this corner of the interwebs.
I want to love people better.
I want to encourage people.
I want to give hope to people through messages of joy. I want to tell people that no matter what they are going through, there is hope. There is a God that loves them so much and that He is keeping them safely tucked in His capable hands.
I want to trust God more with life.
I want to learn more from people.
I want to be more accepting of people who are different than me.
I want to eat more vegetables.
I want to get in better shape physically.
What do you want from this New Year? What are your heart and soul desperately aching for?
